Equipment

  • 2 yards of white felt
  • 1/4 yard grey felt
  • 2 rectangles of brown felt
  • 2 rectangles of light blue felt
  • 2 rectangles of white felt
  • Aleene's Tacky Glue

Instructions

  • Cut the 2 yards of fabric in half. Hold the fabric up to your child to see where their arms would come out of the sides. Sew (or fabric glue) the sides (leaving the arm holes open). To make the costume look more like a candy wrapper, I cut zig zags across the top and bottom of the felt. Sew (or glue) along the top, leaving about 12-inches open for your child's head. I also cut a slit down the back of the head opening to make it easier to put on.
  • To make the candy bar costume look like the real deal, I used a regular sized candy bar as my reference. I placed the 2 brown felt rectangles side by side to make one large rectangle. Then, I outlined the large brown rectangle with about a 1-inch grey outline. I cut out the Hershey's letters freehand, but if you aren't confident in doing that you can simply print a picture from online and enlarge it until its about the size you want.
  • For the Cookies 'n' Cream portion I did print out the graphic from online and enlarged it until it was the size I wanted. This part took me a little bit of time, but it only has to take as long as you want it to (depending on how detail-oriented you are).
  • Be sure to glue all of the felt down with plenty of Aleene's Tacky Glue. You don't want letters or anything falling off when the kids are out trick or treating.
